See here is the beauty of the American system, we have a free market society. He can ask whatever he wants and the market will bear what it will. If someone is wealthy enough and dumb enough to give him his asking price good for him.
Now of course if I walked into my local shop and they asked that I probably wouldn’t step in the shop ever again. That’s the risk the shop owner runs.
Somehow on GB it doesn’t bother me.
YMMV

FREE Enterprise??
I just bought a 5 lb jug 3 weeks ago for $180.00 Of course someone will think it was stolen or I ripped the guy off because I didn't have him look at GB after he told me the price.
It doesn't bother me in the least what they ask or get. Nothing is as cheap as it was yesterday.

One can ask whatever price one wants for their goods and services, for sure. I am, however, surprised sometimes by the prices folks ask for things. The market, of course, will have the last word on this, and all transactions. That seller may get lucky and dupe someone, but not likely. I say “good luck” to that seller, and “buyer beware” to all potential buyers. Free markets are generally self regulating, and consumers talking about prices, as we are doing now is just part of that.
