not much of a story on this one! I was checking our dead pile (we’re weaning calves and the weather has not been kind to us. We’ve had some death loss) and there were two coyotes there. Shot the first one with my rifle, about 250 yards, the second coyote didn’t know where the suppressed shot had come from and he started running up a draw towards me. So I slipped out of the pickup and eased over to a little shirnrey patch and waited. Sure enough when I rose up to look he was broadside, 70 steps away. Shot him DA offhand through the neck. I was holding on his shoulder but I’ll take it!

seventy steps with a handgun is a great shot. Well done! Stateline can shoot, you should see what he can do with a 4" 29 at longish ranges...

Coyotes are the ultimate with revolver. Probably no tougher quarry and no more satisfying. I have been lucky enough to get a few. Been a dry spell lately. Missed one this am. Taking out mineral he by a well travel road. I stopped and got out on approach and by then he was running. Put a 44 just over his ears at about 150 yd. Maybe he won’t be so dumb next time
