Wow! That is a chunk of change for that thing... Put some MIM parts in mine and bring the price down. Of course that posted price is MSRP. Held a new stainless DW CBOB in a local shop yesterday that was tagged $1079...

I wouldn't pay that much for a carry gun when the stainless bobtail is $400 less and can be blackend for half that amount. BUT,....that's still a lot of hand fitted auto for the tag! (And you know it will shoot.) I trust you've finally shot that 10mm??
27 ounces by the way.

Thats pretty much the same as the Les Baer "Stinger" but cheaper. If its anywhere near as accurate and 100% reliable as the stinger is, its worth the money....

Looks like the CBOB MSRPs out at about $200 cheaper.... My local dealer sells at a few bucks less. He has a 45 bore CBOB on the shelf for $1049. If you lived close enough for some shooting I buy the danged thing just so we could wring it out.. FWIW one of the 5 inch slide guns passed through a few months back. Don't remember if it was a Pointman or Razorback. Either way it was a fine looking piece of hardware.. If it had been a 45 I would have bought it... FWIW I have been a steel 1911 snob all my life. Kimber turned my head around on that. I picked up a pre series II Pro Carry that compared price and quality wise to this $1500 DW would bring tears to your eyes....

Steel frames are definitely the way to go, might have one heading my way soon as the gun show I now call "work" for 10-15 hours a week seems to think I need a full ground up custom 1911 to carry at the shop (they don't like seeing my Llama on my hip when I come into work) so I may have to build one sometime in the not too distant future if I want to keep my 25% discount

The alloy frame 1911 on your hip beats that steel frame 1911 you left at home every time... Those old poor durability wives tales about the alloy frames have had stakes driven through their hearts too..

Keep that train of thought up Axe and in another 20 years you'll be wearing plastic guns.

I tend to shoot the snot of my guns, therefore I don't like to take chances, and an all steel gun in a properly made holster is barely felt on the hip at the end of the day

Your money... Your choice... Use an alloy frames as a reason to offer to pay less but never never pass up a good deal on a well built 1911 on the basis of an alloy frame...
