A FRIEND OF MINE HAD A RUGER SA IN 41 SPECIAL (DO NOT RECALL THE PARTICULARS). ONE DAY WE WERE UP AT MY HIGHPOINT RANCH IN EDWARDS COUNTY, TEXAS (RANCH NOW SOLD) AND WE SPOTTED "BIG RED" (A HUGE RED'ish WILD HOG) DOWN THE "RUNWAY" (A LONG ROAD LEADING UP TO CAMP), SO OFF MY FRIEND GOES A FOOT, WITH THE 41 SPECIAL, STALKS UP MORE THAN CLOSE ENUFF TO SHOOT AND LETS ONE GO. HE WAS SURE HE HIT "BIG RED" AND LOOKED SOME (IT WAS ALREADY GETTING LATE IN THE DAY) BUT NO SIGN. THAT NIGHT IT RAINED LIKE HELL SO IN THE MORNING ANY SIGN WAS WASHED AWAY AND WE LOOKED AND LOOKED AND NEVER FOUND A THING. HE WAS A GOOD SHOT AND A GOOD HUNTER SO I TEND TO BELIEVE HE HIT "BIG RED" BUT WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. NEVER SAW "BIG RED" AGAIN.
P.S. HOPE I AM NOT BORING YOU GUYS WITH MY OCCASIONAL SEMI-GERMANE anecdotes.

That .41 Special is a favorite. Great cartridge for plinking. Beautiful gun by Alan.
I was privileged to be the caretaker.
Thanks!
