I had one in 44-40 briefly, and love the way that grip fits my hand, wanting one or two 5 inchers in .357 Mag, but they seem to be discontinued. I'd do the 45 Colt version, if need be - do you have one and what do you think of it? Thank you for your replies.

I do not own one BUT, I have spent a lot of time working with one that belonged to a dear, deceased friend. Dave liked it for the same reason you mention, it fit his hand quite well. I didn't like it for the opposite reason, the way it did not fit my hand. His was was chambered for 45 Colt and I did work up an accurate load. I believe that for all practical purposes it is equal to the Colt.

I do not personally own that version, but I can say that Uberti will never be a second thought if there's a gun in the style I want, they've all been excellent and accurate for me.

I have a pair in 44-40, been my main shooters for CAS for12-13 years now. Got a pair of 1890's in 45 Colt. They are the same as 75's without the underbarrel web. I personally prefer the feel of the Remingtons over the Colt's, feel and fit my hand better. The sighs make for a high shot, so prepare to do some filing once you figger what shoots best. The 90's actually came with extra 45 Colt cylinders, with the barrels marked 45ACP!

The examples that I have owned, used, or examined have been of excellent quality and accurate. If it fits your hand (not mine) you should be happy with it.

Not the 5 inch 357 mag versions, but I can learn to live with 45 Colt, since i already reload it for my 1858 conversion.

I wound up passing up the deal but I did shoot a 5-1/2 .45 Colt/ACP convertible owned by a friend. Should’ve closed the deal that’s all I can say

An adjustable sight version of the 1890 in 44sp would be on my short list if they made it.

Taylor's heat treatment white finish is interesting. Anyone have one of those?

We got Dad a 7.5" .45Colt several years ago for Christmas and it's a fantastic shooter. I've been wanting an 1890 .45 convertible.
