Whatever happened to member flyingzebra? I remember that he was working as a smith and had built a wonderful 480 Ruger with a barrel band/rib piece on a 3-1/2" barrel. I would love to have one like that done in 45 Colt.  |

John is doing good. He still occasionally works with JRH.
He called a few days back while he and Jack were working on a project.

I don't get along with the 97 gripframe, plus the 315gr swc I like is too long for some cylinders. Don't know if it would fit

SafariKid had JRH build several similar short rugers. I believe he passed away. I always enjoyed seeing a few of these guys interesting ideas for customs. Rather different than the typical attitude.

John followed up with a phone call regarding some future trials. While clearly not as much hands on as those two have on builds, I'll do my best to report. Hopefully, one day John will return and post as only he can. |
