Made the hour and 45 minute trip into Springfield today, Scheels had reloading components 15% off today, picked up 4#"s of Power Pistol at $39 per pound, 1000 ct box of CCI sm rifle primers at $63.74, and 1000 ct box of Rem.lg Pistol primers at $68, getting it while I can, I did leave 1 can of PP on the shelf

Gtrat grab Trent. That Power Pistol Powder is something else. It's unbeatable in the 45 ACP. Many other cartridges too...

Perfect, the 45 ACP was the main cartridge I had in mind for this powder, with my Ruger bisley convertible 45, and the new SR 1911 I'm picking up this week, I'll be ready to load my Berry's hybrid hollow points, thanks Huey.

I was loading some Berry's 45 HPs a couple of years ago. I loaded a few, checked the speed and then shot some into water jugs. They did not expand at all. It was then that I noticed the bullets in the loaded ammo did not look the same as the bullets in the box. I was seating and crimping in one step on my Dillon 550 and the nose profile was being smashed to fit the seating stem. I didn't think I had too much of a crimp on the ammo, but I guess the bullets are kind of soft. I picked up a separate crimp die to seat and crimp in different stations. The next ones through the water jugs expanded perfectly.

lar4570 has posted some good information, I also seat, and crimp in one step, however I'm using Lee dies, and single stage press, and have not had the issue he was having, I do believe the Berry's bullets to be on the soft side, and can see how this would happen

I guess I should update my previous post, after discussing my loading process with Huey, turns out I wasn't really putting a crimp on my 45 ACP with the Berry's bullets, just taking the bell out of it. Huey recommended the Lee factory crimp die ( which I already had), and it does a great job, so now my ACP loads are seated and crimped in 2 stages, should be an improvement

Berry's are plated, not jacketed so they are relatively soft. Good job on loading and testing before loading in bulk.
