I always read his articles first. Usually interesting and sometimes slightly odd, but the combination of physician and gun writer is kinda odd itself.

Irrespective of this particular article, I think Dr. Dabbs is the best writer practicing the craft today.

My mother was a thoracic surgeon trauma specialist. She taught me more about gunshot wounds and real world bullet performance than anyone, especially during South Florida's cocaine cowboy wars in the eighties. That's why I carried Black Talon and Hydra-shocks up until she told me about a few shootings with Glaser and Geco bullets. She said it looked like a contact wound from a 410 shotgun. No helping the victims. Too many perforations in the lungs and hearts, usually DOA. She was extremely informative without any bs on what actually happened when someone was shot, especially considering she would see several a day for a few years there.

Thank you for that. I don't get the magazine anymore but truly do enjoy Dr. Dabbs. He has an intellect that is unique and that we need more of...
And Mr. Owens is truly a hero of the greatest type.
