Speaking of gunshows. How many of you have been to one where some one shot themselves? I went to one in Ft. Worth saturday, an ambulance was at the entrance when I was parking, it left as i was approaching the entrance. I later was told a man had shot himself in the upper right side near the shoulder appeared to be accidental.

Never been at one where anything like that happened but then I haven’t been to one in years either. I’m not into jerky bags, t-shirts or Chinese made knives.

It's not an uncommon story. I haven't been at a show when it happened, but soon after or the same weekend.
I haven't been to a show in years for the reasons Robb outlined, but I nearly went Saturday. Glad I didn't now.

I used to go to one every year and bought reasonably priced reloads to plink with. At that time I didn’t load much because my job kept me very busy. After I got a double load in a Colt King Cobra and another in a Glock 23 I stopped that practice. The .357 just bucked like a .44 but the Glock dumped the mag and blew a hole in the base of the case. Neither gun appeared hurt, I still have the Glock. A valuable lesson learned !

Several years ago, maybe 30, there was a guy at a show in Huntsville, Al walking around with a rolling block. He brought it to the show looking for ammunition for it. Seems like it was a .43 Egyptian. He walked up to a table covered in obscure ammo and spotted a box of ammo for his gun. He pulled the box over before anyone realized what happened and pulled out a cartridge which he instantly chambered. Needless to say the Von Braun Civic Center got a hole punched in its roof.

Used to go to the Market Hall gun show in Dallas. They had a big jug full of ammo that they had taken of of supposedly unloaded guns at the door.

The only ND at a show I’ve attended was at Market Hall in the late 00s. Probably been 10 years since I’ve been to a show there. I go to the Will Rogers show every few years but only if the kids are going and invite me along as a price checker and advice giver.

Market Hall and the Big Bang Theory.
I was at a gun show at Market Hall in Dallas when the unmistakable report of a gunshot rang out. I vividly recall watching,in slow motion as everyone around me, including myself, frantically patted themselves looking for a wound from an errant round or a ricochet. Turns out, a popular local 1911 gunsmith and regular attendee was selling his services at his personal table while wearing a holstered 1911 - presumably his personal weapon. A potential customer inquiring about a trigger job got waaaaay more than he expected when either the gunsmith or customer (details were never explained) fired a round from the "unloaded" weapon into a heavy metal tool chest the gunsmith kept behind his table. My ears were still ringing when the gunsmith, escorted by security, passed me in the aisle on his way to an exit he would never enter again as a displayer. I was told that he was barred for life.
I never learned if the ND resulted from a lapse at security or the pistol was mistakenly loaded at the table. Perhaps the gunsmith thought he was loading a snap cap? But I will long remember the looks on the faces around me as everyone ducked and checked for leaks.
I don't remember when it happened but 20 years ago sounds about right.

Thank you for stating ND as opposed to AD.

Never heard of at a gun show but at the indoor ranges here, people have rented handguns and took the cowards way out in the lane. Happened at 3 of the ranges I go to and more than one time.

He's referring to non-shooters who don't own guns, going to public ranges to rent a gun for the sole purpose of killing themselves.
