I was on tap to teach the short range portion of a long range rifle course (0-500))in Namibia years ago for a LGS in Windhoek. The last day was scheduled to be LR Babooning like we do prairie dogs off of farmers fields/crops, that was 2019. Covid crapped on a lot of plans.

Those are his actual teeth and they split with age.... He was an old loner that was pushed out of his troop (probably why I got `em) and his canines are really worn down. During his life he brook his middle finger that healed sticking straight up as if to say "screw you"... Have to find photo of finger.. Sure is a ugly bastard... I asked PH if alpha male baboon fought a male leopard who would come out on top.... he answered the baboon... said you`ve never seen a alpha male baboon in action The people living in the bush don`t like baboons. Missed a shot on one with bullet spraying rock up his ass and the trackers cheered like a touchdown

Whatever it is, you made the right call shooting it! Did it really look like that when you shot it, or did the taxidermist fubar it? Pretty much one of those "what you see is what you got" If I was Hindu I don`t think I`ed like coming back as a baboon

Always felt a trip to the dark continent wouldn’t be complete without hunting those things. What a beast
