Mr Bradshaw the CH extractor system may be complex, but I don't think so. At least not to the point where it was expensive enough for them to make it and not sell their revolver at the fair very reasonable price that they do. For example the stainless model is just a tad over $400 at Bud's gunshop. I'm trying to figure out if need one.
I'm just making an assumption, being both the revolvers discussed here not using moon clips about whether you could use a speed loader. With the Smith you can, but finding one may be a problem. With the Charter, after reading some owner reviews a speed loader, if available, may not work because you have to press the cartridges into the chamber and snap over the extractors. Apparently some users complained it was hard, whereas others stated it's not that bad, not any worse then trying to load a stiff springed semi auto magazine.
I applaud CH for their accomplishment. Mabe they'll come out with one in 9mm.

Now the lack of moon clip use rears its ugly head. Personally wish they had worked in a moon clip option. The little spring loaded tabs would definitely hinder the use of a conventional revolver speed loader.

I've only owned and shot Charter Arms in 44 special myself. I know a few people with 9mm and 45 ACP Charters and have only heard good things and no issues. Full disclosure though, the guys I know with those auto caliber Charters are not the guys that wear guns out shooting tens of thousands of rounds.

Well those Charters aren't meant for pistol competition or a lot of target shooting and plinking. I see them as protection firearms.
