Well no surprise it looks like the recent run of .480 brass at Starline has been exhausted. I wrote inquiring about the status of my back order and here's their reply:
"Your current backorder will save your place in line for the next run of 480 Ruger, however I do not have any way of estimating a time frame. If you have a chance to get some from Midway, feel free to do so."
Quote off. So, go to Midway now and pay a bit more (they removed the 200 round purchase restriction) or wait the 2-3 years it may take for them to make another run. I ordered another batch from Midway.

Wouldn't y'know? Today Starline confirmed that my initial order was now in process and due to be shipped within a week or so.
When it rains it pours! :-)

I just bought a couple hundred from Midway. My backordered brass from Starline directly will definitely be a lifetime supply. And I don't even own a 480 yet!
The 480 serves the same purpose as 38sp in a 357 does for the 475. Better efficiency in a shorter case using light loads in my 475. That's if one can call 950fps with a 415gr bullet light.
