A while back someone posted a link to a thread (many pages) from the guy that invented the Newbould indexer. I read it for an hour and still had no idea what I was looking at. Well I apologize for that. lol It was me. It is a small group. Machinist kids…..

I have a similar vise from "Real Avid". I have been completely satisfied and I find it very handy when inletting work on flintlocks. -Freeze

Let’s do an end point analysis Gripping it in your hand to fractal vise on a swivel. The total range. Better for my world than a Matrix vise!!!! I will have one soon ………just solves so many problems (And I would love a Matrix also) There is no end. Oh. And a Newbould indexer. Machinists are such children when it comes to shiny useful toys. Those 3………wow. Came alongside a 1930s vintage mill found sitting in a barn apparently patented in 1912! Needs some cleaning up...Interesting youtube restoration video shows vise in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBeOgGt_oWU

That is how Deckel mills started. Couldn’t find the mill they needed so built their own. Good talkin last night Ol Buddy…….as my dad would say. A new vice like that is about $5800 on Amazon. But free shipping!!!!!! 63 pounds…….
