If you can have drawers or whatever like that in a safe,, you don't have enough guns!

If you can have drawers or whatever like that in a safe,, you don't have enough guns! Sounds more like you don't have enough safes!

I see (7) drawers,, and if you put say maybe 4 guns average per shelf, that's only 28 guns. If a person has 100 guns,, that's 5 safes approximately. I'd build a safe room first!
I was talking with a relative recently. He has a small walk in gun room/safe. He's selling that house,, and buying a different one. the one he's buying,, has an unfinished basement. Yet,, he's already found a place in the new house to where he'll just have to pour concrete for (1) wall, and add the door. He said it was a selling point for him. (He collects Flintlocks.)

I got tired of trying to make room for things so I removed the interior and installed drawers instead. So much easier to access whatever I am looking for. Love this...moving my dad's safe from N Fl to N AL with my woodshop build (while we're moving 700lb cabinet saws and such, might as well load up the safe at the same time). Might keep current safe for handguns, and Poppa's for long guns.

Boxes and bags... Stacked like firewood. Do like that drawer system. Have considered picking up a large shallow drawer tool cabinet. Reconfigure the locking system to be a vertical bar and padlock up the front. Fill the bottom drawer up with lead.

I need to put some drawers like that in one of my safes THEN, you'd need another safe for long guns :-)

Bigbore what are those two? WJ Jeffrey 475NE double and a Kreighoff Big 5 20ga/350 rimmed/475NE set. Kinda figured since they are really expensive and not exactly needed at the house for general service, I would put them somewhere with good security. Not many rampaging elephants in North Carolina.

I think I posted them before. Maybe it wasn't on here. Not sure.
I'll have to get by there and get them out for some range fun. Kinda been toying with the idea of trying the 415swc in one. It's a beast in the Linebaugh, so what would it be in the NE?
The Jeffrey is not a special fancy version. Just an 80 year old working gun I traded a Ruger Safari in 416 Rigby and a Redhawk 44mag for when I lived in Africa for a few years from the PH I was apprenticed to.
The Big 5 is a more recent order that remains unfired with all barrels. It's my reward to myself for surviving the heart attacks. It's my motivation to get better so I can go back on safari again.

I dont know how to post pics or I would......my safe is about 40 inches wide inside. I put plywood shelves every 10 inches or so from top to bottom. Then I bought those foam pistol racks by Hy-Skore, and a lot of em! Took them all apart and stacked the slices on all-thread rod to make 40 inch long sections. I made a section for each shelf. I have around 60 revolvers and have room for around 20 or so more. Works GREAT! If anyone needs to see a pic or wants to post a pic for me, send me a message and I'll email you one.
