Do they have any plans for a .44 mag version?

Do they have any plans for a .44 mag version? Yes. First prototype is out in Germany. Hopefully next year for the USA.

Any idea if it’ll fit in L frame ransom rests?
It’s probably too much to hope that they make a Model 69 clone as their 44 mag, but it would be economical vs tooling up for an N clone. Really there’s no reason they couldn’t manufacture 22 through 44 on the same frame like the FA97.

They have an n frame out in Germany now A L frame 22 as well And a switch barrel/cyl gun in the works It should fit the ransom rest fine.

One of the best ways to truly test a gun,,on game,, in the field. Excellent.

well done! the cutting edge bullets look like they are working well too. Have you recovered one to show the expansion/deformation on the bullet?

I’ll have another write up coming on those shortly….its done just way too long. It’s a 4 year mono experiment. CE bullets fracture. They do not expand. Their performance is exceptional as depicted in this 357 Spohr article. The decision to use a 357 for this hunt was to wrap up the article. Using the smallest cartridge that is widely accepted by handgun hunters with a bullet weight that most handgun hunters would not accept. The results are in the freezer.

I have killed deer with 357 mags with just about every LE approved load when I was on the road. some worked better than others. as you have pointed out , not the traditional weight 357 doing a great job in terminal performance, in my early handgunning career, killed more deer with remington 125 grain half jacket HP than with the others since combined. Taking that info; my wife shot her first big nanny doe with a 110 grain winchester personal defense bullet with devastating results. I moved her to a Hornady xtp and the kills were there, but the terminal performance was lacking. I have used xtp's in all my hunting guns with good success. With the 357 if shooting deer sized critters , i will go lighter not heavier and some sort of HP or now try a fracturing style bullet instead. i have some lehigh 175 gr controlled chaos bullets that i am going to test in my 375 winchester contender if I can ever get back down to texas to shoot hogs.
