Falls ... good friend and Forum member Terry Murbach, a few months younger than me, died a couple years ago as a result of a fall at home. My good friend of more than 40 years, Ernie Robbins, a couple years older than me, died as a result of a fall at home. My wife Kay was seriously injured, broken bones, etc. as a result of a fall at home. I'm 80 with heart and breathing problems, but I don't know of a more serious danger for older folks than accidental falls. Falling alone in the desert? Fuggetaboudit! Not me! Be careful and thoughtful, my friends.

We want to keep you Ken, and everyone else around quite a bit longer, living happy and as healthy as possible. Lots more shooting to do, my friend!

About a year ago, I was outside feeding the dogs, my 4 year old was underfoot, and I slipped in the mud. Trying to avoid crushing him, I landed on my gun side and my gun dug into my ribs. I was pretty sore for a couple of days, but nothing too bad.
A few months back though, we went to town with a friend. I was going to climb in the back of her car, and my foot slipped as I was getting in. I had a buck 192 on my off-side, and I landed on it, jabbing the butt into my ribs. I was in some serious pain right then. After a few days it started getting better, but I moved the wrong way when I was carrying a load of firewood, and it started hurting again. Cracked ribs I think, though I didn't go to the doctor to make sure.
