All some exceptional wallet groups. Im afraid the theme of my post has been lost. Im looking for what can consistently be done, not what happens when all the stars align, "and i do my part". Shooting rifle matches for many years, i learned EVERYONE has sub 1/4 minute rifles, they just never bring them to the matches to shoot! Consistency is key. 10rds of bulk mixed 9mm from LW Commander at 7yds standing

It's been a while since I took out my Lipsey Flattop 44 Special, but here it is at 25 yds. with iron sights and the old "Skeeter" load. That’s dang good shooting !

I'm resisting the strong urge to pick out my 'wallet group'. I'm not nearly as consistent as I'd like to be. I've been working with the semi autos and a couple ARs lately so this is from a year ago. This is representative of what I can do if I don't rush and actually take my time. Which is hard for me for some reason. I've shot better and I've definitely shot alot worse sadly enough. Benched at 20yds 6 shots All 3 targets are the same 41 NM 6.5" blackhawk iron sights Somehow I always manage to screw up a nice looking group Also at 20 yards benched 6 shots This bottom one keeps me humble...and respectful of the guys that can actually shoot. 100 yards 6 shots off a bench 100yd bench shooting with a revolver is a new game to me. I've always bench shot at 20 for load development and otherwise just really enjoy shooting offhand standing at steel plates from 20-40 yards. I always thought I was a decent shot. And then I joined this group..

I started this thread to give people an idea of where they and their guns need to be to "call it good" and not spend undo time and components chasing a dream. Lets try to keep it representative of what the gun is doing on average, not those wallet groups we all get from time to time. Alrighty. I've been out of the handgun shooting bidniss for 5-6 years now and just started getting back into it a couple of months ago. So, the groups illustrated here are from a few years ago. I still own all of these revolvers except for the Uberti Flat Top. I'm going to start with a Uberti Flat Top which was probably the most consistently accurate revolver I've ever owned. It's a 44 WCF to which I fitted a .44 Special cylinder. It came with the damned floating firing pin, so I bought a standard replacement hammer and trigger for it. But it shot so well I just never messed with swapping them out. Ultimately I sold it to a member here because the 7 1/2" barrel was just too long for general carry. All groups illustrated here were fired from the .44 Special cylinder from a seated/back-rested position at 75 yds.- Stay tuned for more!

Excellent!!!
Hands down my favorite Uberti Revolvers. I've got the 44-40/44 Special and 45 Colt/45 ACP.
Wish I had more...

cholla aka "Frisco Man": A WORKING/SHOOTING/USING GUN. WHAT DID YOUUSE ON THE BUCK? If you're asking about the load, it was 9.5 gr. of Power Pistol and a 288 gr. cast SWC from a MP 45-270SAA mold.

Very nice. I have a few OM mid frame rugers i am intending projects with. I have gone back and forth on the 45c on the mid frame. If i could get a 260gr to 1050-1100fps, id be happy there. It seems you are getting it done with no problems in that neighborhood.

You can get to that power level in a midframe Ruger, at least a Pearce has listed several loads through the years that will get there in those guns.

Yep, like Fowler said,in the 45 Colt with a 280-290 gr. SWC one can get 1100 fps or a bit more from a 5 1/2". barrel. The Uberti's and mid-frame Flat Top 45 Colt's can digest the same loads. www.loaddata.com is a fantastic source for such loads.
