I bumped the thread up regarding the first New Rossi 357 Magnum Revolver I fondled. Since then, I've never stopped regretting not buying it.
I'd mentioned to my LGS and he said he'd keep an eye out. He did just that and added three this week.
The Fixed Sight Version (I think 3"), a 4" Blue and 6" Stainless both adjustable sights.
This morning I got to inspect all three. Just as the one at the gun show, all three were impeccable. I'm talking top of the line.
I was most interested in the 6", so most of my efforts were focused on it.
The best trigger pull and tightest cylinder lock up of any DAs I've ever handled. Barrel gap a snug .003" on all six chambers.
Didn't have my pin gauges, but using a caliper, I measured .357"+. We could push a .358" cast thru with some effort.
I've been well blessed to own some of the finest factory and custom revolvers the world has to offer. But, I've never handled a finer built DA Revolver than this one is. I can honestly say that applies to all four I've seen.
At $482, it'll be mine soon. I generally do layaway just to spread them out.
Most of us prefer upper class guns. But, highly recommend anyone give these a chance...

I should add, I've put extensive research into these. New, so not a lot out there.
But, Frame Size is smaller than K-Frame, but slightly larger than a J-Frame. Supposed to be the smallest 6-Shot 357 Magnum out there...

Anything nice I say about the new Rossis will be taken with half a shaker of salt. I gush over Charter Arms' revolvers, so my tastes and judgement may be deemed questionable by some.
I hope you report extensively on yours, because I don't think people will believe ME, and I don't really blame them for that.
I got the three-inch several months ago and I think it's the nicest out-of-the box DA revolver I've ever bought. Ive had a few Smiths, no Colts, many Rugers and Charters, so take that for what it's worth, but these are NICE guns, nicely fitted and finished, properly dimensioned, nice bores and chambers and very nice DA/SA pulls. Way nicer that Taurus' most recent offerings and Taurus has really stepped up their game as of late - except for the triggers... Which is why I sold the new Taurus I had as soon as I saw Rossi was coming back with revolvers.
The new ones are as nice as the older ones (like the M720 era) BUT they have addressed some of the clumsy aesthetic features.
A few things I'll share that it took me a while to find out:
Folks who post about Rossis on a dedicated sub-forum at another site (GBO) have stated that the new Rossi is the size a a Colt, D-Frame;
The grip is NOT the same as the Taurus small-frame revolvers - not close enough to make an ideal grip swap; The only aftermarket grip I've seen to date is a $110 set of G10 grips; So far no one makes a spring kit that I've found*; Rossi will NOT sell you (let alone give you) the teeny-tiny hammer-dog spring if you lose it - they want the gun back.
*I shortened the rebound slide spring by 1.5 turns, left the hammer spring alone and did some smoothing on the surfaces of the rebound slide and mating surfaces. This made a significant improvement on an already acceptable DA trigger. Otherwise, inside that gun was spotless and very smooth.

It will not quite squeeze into the same holster as my 3" Bulldog pug, even though the cylinder is a mere .010" larger in diameter. The bottom of the cylinder-frame is wider, otherwise, it would fit.
A few comparative photos with the 3" LCRX and 3" Mag Pug.

Jeff, this is the best forum in existence for eliminating ignorance. Keeping in mind that ignorance, by definition, is simply something we haven't learned yet.
Sadly, no forum can do anything for arrogance. Even more sad, arrogance is not in short supply.
I'm 100% onboard with everyone buying and enjoying what they like and want. My enjoyment comes from great guns, not a brand name or perceived status.
I'll feel no lesser carrying or shooting this Rossi than I will my Freedom Arms.
Feeling secure in oneself is not something you or I can bestow on others.
Many will discover and enjoy what we've learned. Others will not.
Rest assured, I'll test the Rossi thoroughly...

I truly believe this to be so.
However, as a precaution, I want to make sure everyone understands that I don't think that of people here - that was intended as good-natured self-deprecation. I post here and another forum regularly and no one has ever made fun of my obsession with Charter revolvers.
And, I have not seen the adjustable-sight versions, so I'm almost afraid to follow this thread now. When I got the 3" Rossi, it was the last gun purchase I think I would need to make... except that I'm thinking about selling the LCRX and buying another 3" Rossi.

I'm right there with you. I'm having evil thoughts about texting my gun shop manager and getting him to put me back that 4" blued gun. I need it like I need a hysterectomy, but...

...,but that's an awfully lot of awfully nice gun.
Note that I didn't add "for the money." I've looked at a lot of current-manufacture guns over the past few years and have been quite unimpressed, even as they hit $700, $800, $900 and more. Theses are nice guns regardless of the price. Kind of cool you could own two or three for what some other stuff costs and makes me wonder how good it just looking at their uninspiring aesthetic features.

I laughed at myself earlier when I realized I'd bought the largest frame 6 Shot 357 Magnum, then the smallest frame 357 Magnum back to back.
Not methodical, but still got a chuckle out of it...

It's sad how multiple previous experiences with Taurus (and by default Rossi) customer service will preclude me ever considering this revolver. They were bad on so many levels and impossible to work with. Are they better now? I'll never know. Their reputation and previous baggage are just too much. I'm kind of a screw me once, twice, three times there's not gonna be a fourth time kind of guy. Wish you the best of luck with the new pistola but hope you never need even the smallest, simplest part.

I considered this too. It came down to...
1) Buy a great gun and hope I don't need parts. 2) Buy crap that cost twice as much and doesn't work on Day 1. 3) Limit my purchases to FA, BFR or Uberti.
It's the world we live in...

I agree with both previous posts.
I'll add one more bullet-point to the above: 4) I only paid $360 for this wonderful little revolver, so it's worth the gamble.
I've not bought a new revolver made in my lifetime which was as clean and trouble-free as this one, with the exception of the 3" LCRX*, but Rossi is doing it while still implementing the 19th century design (with 20th century improvements). They managed to replicate what worked so well and still accommodate current manufacturing technology and its inherent efficiencies.
Honestly, from what I've seen of this revolver so far, I think the odds of NEEDING to return one are lower no than ever.
*The LCRX is in a different class anyway. It's a decent gun, extremely light, kind of bulky though and chambered in 38 Special, not 357 Mag. Kudos to Ruger for a really decent out of the box gun. But look at their traditional revolvers. The LCRXs have risen considerably in cost, but the more traditional ones are way out of my "working-man's" budget these days.

Many negative experiences have been mentioned about Taurus/Rossi customer service. I've had only one experience with Taurus repair warranty, but it was a positive experience. In 2022, the cylinder latch in my new 856 started sticking down and not locking the cylinder. I called Taurus at their new headquarters in Georgia and they sent a shipping label right away. My gun was repaired and returned to me in 10 days. I hope this means they are trying to be better than they have been in the past.

I enjoy reading other people's experiences. But, I've never seen a single brand of gun that there wasn't complaints about.
Not unlike vehicles and pretty much anything.
