I appreciate the input. Very useful data.
I may well get these opened up to .358"...

I've been so impressed with these two projects, I just ordered another 1000 Starline 357 Magnum Cases.
After 6 full power loadings, I could feel primer pockets starting too loosen.
But, we all know this type loading comes with a trade off. At $171/1000 it's hard to complain...

Load with only lower pressures?

I've been pondering that question myself. This is all new to me, so no experience to draw on.
So, I'd decided to ask for opinions on that.
1) Do I use brass till pockets are loose and discard?
2) Use for 2-3 Hot Loads then relegate to normal loads and see how they last?
3) Other suggestions certainly welcome.
This is learn as I go...

This is learn as I go... you could load 3 times hot and then use for moderate loads. Id bet they last another 10 loads then....maybe more. If you load them 6 times and just toss them, you got your moneys worth at $170k anyway. In the overall scheme of things, Brass is a consumable just like powder and primers so i would be happy with 6 WFO loads myself.

Agreed. But, I'll experiment and see how it goes.

6? I'd live with it. My top 353 loads were one and done.

I know i have literally pounded brass out of my BFR to the point of bending the extractor (button, knob, handle, ) and that brass took another primer fine. It was certainly looser than new but i had no worries of blowby.

Winchester Brass was a waste of time. Starline takes a stout load.
The BFR is plenty strong, but I just don't load that hot.
But, when the 360 DA Portion of this project is complete, I'll try to match those ballistics with acceptable (to me) pressures...

I expect 20+ loadings from 44 and 38 brass. Have not pushed my 357 brass. My 32 mag brass is showing loose primer pockets on some that I over loaded but I am still using them.

I thought about this project a lot. The BFR 357 Magnums are built from the same cylinder blanks they use for the 6-Shot 454 Casulls. But, the walls on each chamber it 1/10" thicker 360°. That's got to be some serious strength.
Hoping another forum member will try this with the 44 Magnum.

I expect 300-320gr at 1500+ will be no problem. I also have 2 cylinders out being rechambered to 45 colt and will have MR fit 45acp cylinders to those guns. I expect the 45 acp to be able to produce at least tier II 44spl ballistics and i think tier III isnt out of reach.
