It ain't rocket science. You're doing two things, overthinking and splitting hairs. You can try to justify it but that dog won't hunt.

I really like 2400, I use it for lots of heavy revolver rounds but my biggest use is in the older Swiss rifles. I think if I only had 2400 I could do a lot of shooting for a good long time.

Was a free HazMat day at Powder Valley. Pulled the trigger on several pounds of Unique added another HS-6 and some H1000 for the big boys. Paying Tax simply sucks....

I've got plenty of titegroup and power pistol. Need to get time to try them under the 310gr for some lower velocity plinker loads.

Dont think it would be a good option in larger cases but ill be interested in the data if you decide to try it. PP will be outstanding im sure.

Correction. I meant titegroup. I have used titewad in 45acp and 38sp. Wasn't impressed enough to buy more.

I have so many powders and I have yet to open some of them up. I've been using 231 in 45 Colt (and 38, 9mm, 44 Spl, 32 mag, 45 auto, 480 Ruger, etc.) for decades now, and Hercules Blue Dot, which I found so much cleaner than HS6. But not going to try the new Alliant version of BD. The only caliber I found HS6 to burn well for me was 357 magnum. I figure AA9 and 2400 will be my replacements for BD.
I always used W296 in 454 and heavy 45 Colt.
Still need to try my stashes of Silhouette, Universal, 2400, AA9, Enforcer, VV3n37, and even a couple pounds of Titegroup.
I'd hate to stick to just 2 powders, honestly.

When surplus powders were readily available, id order 48# (6 jugs) at a time and usually get free hazmat from pats reloading, hi-tech, or gibrass. Wc820 and 297 have been wonderful as an h110 sub for magnums and csb1-m has been a great "universal" substitute. Those two burn rates cover the bases fairly well.
