My son and I went to a small show Saturday and there were 8 or 10 model 39's there. There was 1 XP 100 with an extra thumbhole stock in 221 Fireball but no Contenders or barrels, quite a few Pythons and Smith's. No reloading stuff at all. Did score some small rifle and small pistol primers [Rem] @ $52.00 per K at another store. No LR OR LP Rem primers but CCI primers were $80.00 per K.

Last time I went to a gunshow I wound up with a Mauser 35 Whelen, a Savage 24 222 Rem / 20 Gauge, a Buck 119, a factory refurb scope, three gun cases and a Ruger 22lr. / 22 Mag single six. Darned gun shows. LOL. That was two years ago and cant wait for the next one!

Went to one today. Fairly decent selection of rifles and handguns, just nothing in my wheelhouse. Happily I DID come across a Lyman/Ideal, 148 gr., .358, hollow base wadcutter mold. I was up against that or a heel type bullet for my German Constabulary revolver. Old but in excellent condition. $60.00 with handles. Picked up a book on B-17's I'll start this evening. Saw a lot of friends and even a retired LEO I worked with back in the mid-70's. Took him a second or two before he remembered me. He said, "Boy Vic, that's going back a while!." It was 46 years ago.

I use to go to the Farm Show building in Harrisburg every 3 months to gun shows. When they started charging for parking I quit going. Paying to get in was bad enough. Lol

On occasion I will find a nice old scope from the 60's or 70's that will be a good fit on an older Rifle. I never pay more than 100 Bucks though. I look for the "pile " of Scopes and comb through them.

Good show in Livingston MT this weekend, saw several people I knew, found some walnut Blackhawk grips, and bought a big sandwich for lunch at the Pickle Barrel.

I look for the "pile " of Scopes and comb through them. You mention that. Yesterday there was a bunch of good, fixed power American, German and Japanese scopes for not a lot of money. I should have bought the 6X Redfield Wide View just because.

I dropped most but one GS for my consideration. Aside from the rare sellers of ammo which I generally do not need, most firearm sellers have AR's, and plastic handguns. Then there's the sellers of jewelry, hot sauce, candy, nuts, T shirts, knives bought on cutlerycorner.net, safes, and tacticool gear.
The West Palm beach fairgrounds and maybe a once in a few years visit to the Tampa fairgrounds shows are the only ones I'll visit.

I have quit going to most of them, they are more like flea markets than gun shows. I do attend the Smokey Mountain Gun Collectors show twice a year in Knoxville TN. It is still a gun and knife show.

The local show here in the state capitol is dismal. 25-30 years ago it was an entertaining large show but the promoter supposedly played some games and the vendors packed up and left. Since then it has been a small 40 or so table event packed with junk. I think I've attended three times in 27 years. The show this weekend was no better.
A friend went to the show at the fair grounds in Puyallup Fair Grounds and said the recent state legislation has killed gun shows there. The good for his as an out of state FFL was he is a source to sell their evil Assault weapons to when they want to sell them. I see Oregon following suit in the Left Coast escapades and will soon die too.

We still get a couple good vendors with interesting things. One guy always has a good amount of old lever action rifles. Hyatt's will set up a few tables full of old Smith's and Colts, but their prices are up there.
