Amen to all the, buy good gear, advice. A couple of close calls years ago got me to buying good gear. Amongst my first, good gear, was 1st gen Sierra West Goretex and Helly-Hansen poly-pro long handled undies.

Wish I could be one of those sharing the cost of the skiff with you.
There are some great YouTube vids of SE Alaska black bear hunts out there. Gotta sift through a little BS, but some good info can be had from the YouTube super hero’s lol.
I lived and hunted in the Olympic rainforest of WA state for a few years. In my soggy experience, forget about the gore-tex for rain gear. I ran Helly Hansen rubber rain coats and also have a pair of Rivers West waterproof (truly) chaps. They make other coats and pants that I am sure are just as good. My Cabelas MTO50 rain gear works in “normal” situations but failed miserably being out all day in pouring rain.
