Based upon the 454 and 460's performances, what would you consider the maximum ethical range (of each round) assuming the shooter does their part on elk and deer?

With cup and core I’d cut 50 yards off… Deer could be farther…but the drop gets pretty bad past that. If you have a good solid way to compensate for drop….that’s different. For elk I didn’t have to hold off hair to hit with the 460.

Being a born in the swamp, raised in the woods Southern boy, I have trouble finding anywhere to shoot that far with a rifle!

Great work, Chris! One question…the last picture in your first post, he’s wearing his revolver in a chest rig upside down. Is that by design? I’m just curious if that’s a functional thing or something else.

An expensive gun in cheap leather never made sense to me.

Awesome way to close out the season! congrats.
I did not manage to find a cow and its noticed in the freezers!
Thanks for sharing your experience on bullet performance. Gives folks confidence in certain combos. I got a whitetail buck with my 454 and Barnes 250 XPBs that i will have to post. was impressed with how it worked.

Being a born in the swamp, raised in the woods Southern boy, I have trouble finding anywhere to shoot that far with a rifle! Hunting these burns and ridges it’s pretty common to run out of cover for a stalk. Still most shots are under 100 yards.

I found that stepping back on bullet weight one “notch” really increases the terminal performance on the lead free.
