Here's one you don't see everyday that's incoming. I'm estatic. I sold my only 10mm, a NH Falcon earlier this year and I've been on the hunt for a 10mm commander ever since. When I saw this I had to pounce on it. It most definitely will be ran through the ringer and not a safe queen.

That's one of the rare guns that is heavily adorned, but done in great taste.
Congratulations and I look forward to the range report...

Thank you very much. I tend to favor commander sized 1911s. This fits the bill perfectly.

Wow, that pistol is tastefully appointed with such lovely details, I especially like the checkering on the slide release and safety. Nice wood as well. I think I drooled on my keyboard!

I do like the looks of this one. And have eyeballed a NH in 10 mm for a few years. But you were 1911 brings up a question that I've heard a lot of debate over and I am genuinely interested in perspectives. Some people fully believe the 10mm is too much for the 1911 platform even in the government configuration. With commanders length slides do they have a different spring system, or something else other than just a heavier spring? I believe Les Baer didn't even like building them in 10mm for the longest time (they do now) because of slide velocity and beating up the frame yet some people are building them with Commander length slides that would only exaggerate the problem - if there is one.

That is a beautiful tool. Sorry I missed it, it could live in my house. And I would shoot it about every day. The 10mm has a great and useful home in 1911s. My two tens are going strong with no parts breakage. And yes, I shoot the cartridge with loads as it was intended to. 200s at 1200, 180s at 1300, 155s at 1400. It is a wonderful field cartridge especially where I live.

I think the 1911 handles the 10mm quite well, especially the full size guns.
I've read the commanders can be tricky to get running 100% and that some gunsmiths won't build a 10mm commander. There are some pretty big proponents of the 10mm over on the Addicts site, myself included.
We will see how it runs once I get it in hand and can take it to the range. I'll try to remember to post a range report when it happens.
Theres also the very real possibility I try the 9x25 in it as well.
