It seems like the natural course of these configurations is pricing at MSRP or + a premium, the product run ends, then closeout pricing, then prices skyrocket.

That's definitely a belt and suspenders kind of gun at 66 oz sans scope! Hogue Tamers grips are a bit overboard, unless you need them to hold the beast up.
