Please be extra careful shooting around these types of facilities, they don't take kindly to stray bullets, the outcome can be quite catastrophic. We not infrequently find bullets laying on the ground next to tanks and sometimes holes in buildings. When you let the product out of the pipes it goes looking for an ignition source. (that's my public service message).[/quote]
And a good one! My whole family has made a living in gas production at one time or another. Pop worked drilling rigs until he went on his trip to Vietnam. When he returned he went to work for a pipeline company until he retired at age 70. I worked summers for a contractor painting stations, praying herbicide, and walking pipeline looking for leaks, and going on one calls. We were stopped on the way to a one call one morning by a guy who was digging with a backhoe. He had hit the gas line and it was blowing. He said it was an AIR LINE!

Went to my pipeline stand this afternoon. I guess the 3 does that hang out are pretty used to the 4 wheeler. They just stood around even after getting into the stand then back to eating grass.

More proof that deer become accustomed to vehicles & such. Ever notice how many deer feed alongside the interstates in the evenings, overnight & mornings? Oblivious to traffic.

In my youth in the Catskills and Adirondaks of N.Y. the first shot of opening day sent the deer off to some subterranean location and only the very foolish stayed behind :-)
My last trip there was 18 or so years ago and the lack of hunters caused an explosion of deer that got so bad I saw deer foraging on decorative plants at homes in the outskirts of Kingston.
