I am not near my SCS&W to look up the correct date but late in the 20th century, the order came down to stop the pinned barrels and recessed cylinders. It was implemented sporadically as parts on hand were used up. Pinned barrels with non recessed cylinders and non pinned barrels with recessed cylinders are not uncommon.
I will check when I get home from church.

In book terms -2 was P&R -3 was not.
