Well, that sux. Looks like either would require custom grips. I really...really hate Pachs.

I don't blame you. I got a 83 three years ago and it came with pach's and I didn't shoot it at all. It just sat in the safe. I finally sent off the frame and had some elk stags fitted. Love them, but I'm ready to move up to the .454. If you are interested in the 44 let me know I can send some pics. It will be much cheaper than $1500.

I know the FA is a better revolver and I was fretting a bit about being half way into what I would have spent on a FA so far with the BFR + mods. But the first 4 shots are making it seem worth the 1K. Three shots in a nice cluster, sight adjustment, fourth in the black! I'll have a FA soon, but the BFR is a keeper too.

I noticed only yesterday that the rear edge of my BFR frame/grip frame do not line up perfectly either. This would seem a big problem fitting custom grips that are not way oversize like the Uncle Mike's

Hey tek...nice shooting! What kind of grips are those? I think I will own both before its all said and done. I just keep hearing good things about the BFR and honestly, I just like it. Put some nice grips on it and it would be nice.
And I know this is heresy, BUT the 97 I once owned has almost soured me on FA. Although, the 83 I handled was a far superior weapon. Fit, finish, action feel and trigger were all superior so now I want an 83 too.

The grips are some I made to try out the "gunfighter" profile on something that supposedly has recoil. They took all of 30 minutes to make with a scroll saw and a dremel tool. No sandpaper whatsoever It will wear better grips soon.

With a bit of blacksmithin' the BFR grip frame can be made into a very comfortable one to launch 475 cal slugs with. This Harton tweaked ex-CDNN bargain is a pleasure to shoot 400's at 1150 fps with and I expect it too be quite fine at 1300 fps. It weighs 54 oz as shown which does help a lot with recoil I believe. With just 50 rounds down range it has demonstrated that it is a frighteningly accurate gun. I have an original grip frame with black micarta grips in anyone is interested??
