professor, you might not be a 44 guy but if you knew Steve's story you would be a "Callshot" guy. The Callshot 44 special brass is just a small part of all of it, its the back story that's really the story. Since it's 1:30 in the morning I'll cut it a little bit short but for many years he took care of his bedridden wife all by himself & even the people at the hospital said they couldn't have done it as well as he did.
The house was always spotless, there was never a dirty dish, the lawn was mowed, he always had a nice garden & his wife always had a clean bed, always! He bathed her, fed her, washed her hair, read books to her, paid the bills on time, gave her her medicine & if he ever complained in all those many years I never heard it. The "Callshot" 44 special brass was a pain in the %#&@% for him to do because he had to pay for it up front & it came on 4 pallets, then he had to hand count it & get it boxed & shipped to guys all over the US. Why did he do it? The same reason he took such good care of Betty for all those many years, he likes people & he likes a challenge. Starline insisted that he buy 50,000 pieces, he finally got them to make 20,000 pieces with the "Callshot" headstamp on it. Maybe that's why you should have a few pieces...... 6-7 of us went together & bought Steve, "Callshot" a Ruger flat top 44 special, I noticed a little tear when he opened the box, he had never been used to receiving, all his life he had been used to giving, hell of a man!
