.40 and .45 aren't quite as close as .355 and .40 But....I'm thinking it will run! Could pull up the SAAMI specs and see how the case heads measure but that might spoil the surprise. Tomorrow we will see!

SAAMI Says: 9mm .395 40/10 .425 45 .480
Looks like
.030 from 9 to 40 .055 from 40 to 45
so.. .025 more

Not expecting die issues. My 9x25 die set is at least 30 years old. Got them from an active USPSA competitor that loaded with them extensively when the 9x25 was cool.... It STILL is cool, to me anyway.

FWIW IMHO I figured that it was a dead give away when Lone Wolf didn't offer a 10mm conversion barrel for a G21. I dropped the 10mm barrel into the G21 and made a run at it anyway. Using a 15 round Glock 10mm magazine the first two rounds failed to feed. After that the rest of the magazine ran flawlessly.

I have a Gen4 G21 on my hip now sitting on the couch watching TV. First three out of the gun Federal 230 grain Punch with rest Winchester 230 FMJFP's with the extra Mag loaded with Buffalo Bore 250 hard cast. My G20 Gen4 is in the drawer. My point is I think both are good guns. I like both.

Y'all do know that you can shoot 40 S&W's out of a Glock 10mm barrel right? I shoot them out of both my Glock longslide 10mm and also a longslide 10mm 19ll. No problems at all. Just sayin

Just an interesting note. Just saw on the news where Chicago is going to sue Glock because they said there is a flaw in the pistol that causes it to go full auto. Yeah, the flaw is the Chinese switch that's sold on the black market.

..don't think the chinese were smart enough to invent it...as usual they usurped it... Believe the inventor was from Europe. Saw a YouTube video the other day where he was saying he wished he had never invented it...

That come from the ATF. The switches are one thing the ATF watches closely.

Just sayin I just shot a few mags of .40’s through my Glock 20 today. I don’t do it a lot but I’ve done the same with my Delta Elite. I’ve read I’ve read both sides of the debate on the 40 in 10mm. The biggest issue pointed out is that the cartridge is actually head spacing on the extractor and not the case mouth with 40’s in the longer chamber. But honestly how many reloaders are trimming auto brass and have their dies set properly to headspace on the case mouth? So most guys shooting autos, 9’s,40, 10mm, .45 auto are probably loading rounds that headspace on the extractor to some degree? I watch a YouTube video last night by a guy that I consider smart and does things scientifically that says it’s ok and has done a lot of shooting of 40’s in a Glock 20. Any opinions? Axehandle what do you think? You probably have the most 1911 experience from what I’ve read on the board.

Just took pictures I'll post tonight. Headspacing on the extractor for sure. We routinely see headspacing on the extractor in semi autos with 380 in a 9mm and then 9mm in a 40. In those instances the cartridge fires but there isn't enough zip there to function the gun. 10mm/40 might work fine in a properly sprung game gun but we'll never have to worry about me doing it. Never in a carry gun. Different deal with DA revolvers using moon clips. In those cases the cartridge headspaces on the moon clip.
