Had one that was passed to a friend who after a number of years passed to another of our friends. Excellent accurate "little" gun but does have a lot of light strikes when shot DA, especially slowly.
The current owner took it to Mike LaRocca in Worchester, Ma. who has been working on S&Ws for 40+ years... He cured most of the problems with a new firing pin and cleaning up the firing pin recess but there is still the occasional misfire DA. Next is an extra power main spring that has just been ordered...
Only reason I sold it in the first place is that I bought a 317 that has has zero issues since day one...

I’ve got one very similar, as well as a spare cylinder. I was thinking steel sleeves and make a 22wmr cylinder for it. Took a coyote with it while on an elk hunt once, neck shot after squeaking it in to 20 yards or so. Disappears on the hip in a Barranti NW companion (I think) crossdraw.

Someone put a lot of effort and love into that weapon. I bet it shoots and feels great.

The Model 43 Airweight Kit gun and Model 51 .22WMR kit gun were the only two in the original Kit Gun line made with 3.5" barrels, I believe. Pretty cool little blasters!
