The Miha 70 gr gas check HP has been working great in our 25/20's on ground squirrels for the last couple of weeks. You can make a pretty big pile with a 3 cavity mould. I think my son's are running them about 1900 fps in their rifles. Your 256's will better that.

Great quality stuff!!!
I also already had the Form & Trim Die, which is the third step in forming.
You'll have no problem forming brass with that setup...

My original 256 die set came with the trim die and fooled me into thinking that that set was all I needed.

Got on the waiting list for the 60 grain Hornady bullets at Midway. Ordered some heavier ones to bridge the gap. They shipped today.

Well, I started shooting 86 years ago a 22 single shot which cost between 8 and 10 bucks in the 20 s times have changed. Went to a high school which had a built in rifle range (by the Feds), Times have changed... Missed a 256 carbine by a few days 3 or 4 years ago was in very good shape. Have been shooting 218 Mashburn Bee in a #1 and sbh. The #1 has a 10 twist, avg vel 2932 1 in groups at 200 yds 60 grain tmk using CFE BLK. The # 1 had not shown any signs of pressure until this latest run of hot weather, now getting light tool marks on the cartridge and primer. I have a 22 250 in a #1 so there is not much sense in pushing the bee this hard. Have another #1 mbee being built with a 1 in 9 twist. Have a nice day Don K.

Thinking I'll do a sample of once fired 357 brass... Maybe some new Starline. Should have 4 or 5 different headstamps. So 20 or 25 of each to evaluate the case forming results and case life. More details soon.

Sir, I run the 357 case up in a 22 jet die till the case mouth is about 25 caliber. I use imperial sizing wax, it does make a difference. Then size in 256 seat die with bullet seat punch taken out. Then full length size. Seldom lose a case brass or plated. The GT 55 grain bullets work great as lubed or powder coated. Ron Reed had the 60 grain jacketed. Don't know if he has any left. It is much easier to form 256 than jet brass. Being patient and taking your time helps. Before loading I bell the case mouth just enough to start bullet base.I shoot them mostly in a revolver. Great round but my 25/20 cylinder gets more use.
