Doesn't sound like cost is as important as heirloom. You've already given one FA97. Why not another in .22? This is your answer right here. 100 percent.

If cost's not a factor, then the 97 is nice and should make it on down the line a fair way.

How is the FA97 grip for younger hands (boys and girls under the age of 14) compared to a Ruger XR3-RED, or a S&W J or K frame?

The Missus is 4'10" and about a hundred pounds. Wears size six kids shoes. She's okay with it, but says she would prefer thinner stock panels

My kids learned to shoot handguns with a S&W model 35 target revolver. Smaller and lighter than a K22 but still has a 6"bbl. Essentially a target Kit Gun, they are hard to find and a bit pricey now.
