I have been looking for all of the books you've mentioned, and most of Elmer's works, and they seem to be real hard to come by, and expensive when yo find them, maybe you could talk to your publisher and see if they might be willing to do a reprint since the demand is so high?

Back in the 70s I lived in Deming NM and worked at MMC Skeeter came in all the time and it was always a treat I believe it was after he retired from the DEA his favorate carry gun back then was his engraved 45 Auto just shoved in his wasteband. Skeeter did bring in a Colt SA he had picked up one time and I managed to break it but I already told that story on the old forum. After I had moved back to Ohio I talked to Bob Sconce the owner of MMC pretty often and he told me Skeeter had wrecked his blazer but I didn't know how bad he was till I read he had passed away. Skeeter was a great gentleman always had a great bunch of stories and was always doing favors for people and it was a great pleasure to know him

A grouping of "Skeeter stuff". 5" Model 27 with Bear Hug Roper grips. Skeeter's 4 books. The 2 soft covers were in a pile of magazines on a gun show table. I think I gave 50 cents each for them. Nobears, if you send me a PM with your mailing address, I'll drop the softcover copy of "Skeeter Skelton on Handguns" in the mail to you.

I DON'T BELIEVE YOU UNDERSTAND THE PUBLISHING BUSINESS. FIRST A PUBLISHER JUST CAN'T DECIDE TO REPRINT A BOOK. SOMEONE PROBABLY OWNS THE RIGHTS TO THAT BOOK. WOLFE AHS DONE SEVERAL REPEINT SOF "SIXGUNS" AND IF THEY THOUGHT THE AMRKET WAS THERE THEY WOULD DO IT AGAIN. SKEETER'S WORKS ARE HELD BY SHOOTING TIMES, AGAIN IF THEY THOUGHT THE DEMAND WAS THERE THEY WOULD PUBLISH THEM AGAIN. YOU SAY THE DEMAND IS HIGH; I DON'T THINK SO. A FEW FOLKS TALKING ON THE INTERNET ARE NOT A GREAT DEMAND. MY FIRST THREE BOOKS ARE NOW OUT OF PRINT AND #4 WILL BE GOING THE SAME WAY SOON. IF THEY THOUGHT THE DEMAND WAS THERE THEY WOULD REPRINT THEM. IN FIREARM'S BOOKS 5,000 COPIES IS A BIG SELLER, MY FIRST TWO SOLD 10,000 EACH, #3, 5,000, AND THE 4TH ONE, I BELIEVE WAS PRINTED IN A 10,000 RUN. SADLY MOST SHOOTERS DON'T READ. A NEW GUN COMES OUT, IS COVERED IN ALL THE MAGAZINES AND 6 MONTHS LATER SOMEONE WILL POST ASKING IF ANYONE EVER HEARD ABOUT SUCH AND SUCH. THERE ARE OVER 100,000,000 GUN OWNERS IN THIS COUNTRY BUT ONLY ABOUT 5,000,000 NRA MEMBER. THAT LEAVES A LOT OF LEECHES LIVING OFF MEMBER'S MONEY. I DON'T NEED ANYONE TELLING ME THEY ARE NOT ANRA MEMBER BECAUSE THE NRA DOES THIS OR THE NRA DOESN'T DO THIS. THEY ARE THE BEST WE GOT.

Indeed, and that is why I have been an NRA member sonce 1985, thanks Dad, I was only 2 when he got it for me, as for the book thing, I didn't exactly know how that worked, I figured (like I always do) if it interests me, then there must be other folks out there that are interested as well.

MANY OF HIS ARTICLES ARE FOUND IN TWO BOOKS "HOGLEGS, HIPSHOTS, AND JALAPENOS" AND "GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD GUNS, GOOD WHISKEY" ALSO TWO MAGAZINE FORMATS: "SKEETER SKLETON'S HANDGUN TALES" AND "SKEETER SKELTON ON HANDGUNS 1980" THEY WON'T COME CHEAP. ANOTHER GOOD READ IS SALLY SKELTON'S BOOK ON SKEETER. IT IS GREAT TO SEE SOMEONE AS YOUNG AS YOU ARE INTERESTED. I "DISCOVERED " SKEETER IN THE LATE 1950s WHEN HE WAS WRITING FOR "GUNS". I WAS EVEN YOUNGER THEN THAN YOU ARE NOW. FIRST MET HIM IN 1977. I SENT HIM COPIES OF MY PRE-PUBLISHED MANUSCRIPTS WHILE HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. MY TWO TEXAS FRIENDS JOHN WOOTTERS AND BOB BAER VISITED HIM WHILE HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL I HAVE SECTION IN MY .44 BOOK DEDICATED TO HIM. BILL GROVER OF TLA BUILT "SKEETER SKELTON SPECIAL SIXGUNS IN HONOR OF SKEETER. THEY WENT TO BILL GROVER, BOB BAER, JOHN WOOTERS, TERRY MURBACH, JIM WILSON, BART SKELTON, AND MYSELF. "Good Guns.....Whiskey" (19) new and used starting at $62.99 and "Hoglegs....Jalapenos" (4) new and used starting at $95.00 on Amazon.com
