I have finally decided to go to gas check bullets in my heavy 357 magnum and maximum loads.
Either the alloy gets too hard for a hollow point to function or I get leading (probably from bullet skid). Even with powder coated bullets that pass the hammer test. I actually seem to see less leading with traditional LBT or RCBS lubes.
My question is what check maker dies are y'all using?

I agree, you really shouldn't get leading with powder coated bullets, unless there is something else contributing, like a barrel restriction, timing issue, or bad powder or technique...
as far as gas checks, I personally think they are either functional or not... my old machinist buddy made the tooling to make them out of old beer or soda cans, & those worked excellent

I have a couple of Pat Marlin's GC makers. They work for me.

Thanks! I prefer those to the Lyman type. Though I was just gifted 2000 45 caliber Lyman GC's. Need a CG 45 mold now.

Tried both Eastwood blue and Smoke's red. They pass the hammer test and both powders are fine on hard alloy. It's just with air cooled 50/50 coww/soww in 357 max and mag. Same alloy and coat has no problem in the Casull

It's in all my 357's and only in them

To just size on standard bullets right?

I use both Gator checks and Hornady's based on the diameter.

I'm cheap. I'd rather buy the check maker, which seem about the same price as 2000 checks. As much as I usually shoot, 2000rnds is only a month or so worth. So it's worth making my own.

Just make your own, there is a guy in CZ who made a excellent gascheck-Tool-Die, not as grappy thin like the GC from PatMarlin or accurateshooter.
He made it special for your bullet type, and for copper thikness of .015" like the ones from gator and Hornady. Easy to stamp with RCBS Rockchucker2
Just ask here grimpo@post.cz
