John,
Then that was a brilliant move to get 2 DW .32H&Rmag when they were available; especially since the 327 didn't exist at the time. Awesome move having a spare to make a 327 federal magnum years later.
I just read in your double-action book about a pair and a spare. The spare really turned out nice this time. Seems like a good idea. At least that's what I'm telling my lady.

Well, I got a great price on the Dan Wesson but after getting some brass on gunbroker I’ve found the cylinder ties up when it’s loaded. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check length of the brass? It may not be seating all the way.

I've not had this problem with DW and I have a few. Where is the cylinder binding? Are you able to close the cylinder easily?
Go for the easy fix first. Blame the brass. Is it really seating fully in the chambers. Use micrometer to measure for specs(diameter up/down, rim thickness?).
Is the cylinder seated correctly and turning freely without ammo? Is there a bulge on the cylinder causing a bind when that high spot hits the topstrap? The hunt is worth the effort.
What did you find?
Good luck,

MAY BE YOUR DIES NOT SIZING ENOUGH--DID YOU FULL LENGTH RE-SIZE ALL BRASS EVEN NEW? THE BULLET MAY ALSO BE TOO LARGE OF A DIAMETER

Thanks everyone for the replies, I’ve checked the ammo and it’s in spec. The cylinder rotates freely empty, but tied up with ammo, all ammo seats into the cambers with the rim flush against the rear of the cylinder. Loading a single chamber, the cylinder closes in all places but when lined up with cylinder window in line with the firing pin. Closing the cylinder past that area with a single case the cylinder will rotate freely until it rotates to line up to the bore over the firing pin.
So the question for a fix is: open the rear of the cylinder window at the top rear in front of the firing pin? Or is there an easier fix?
Thanks

MAKE SURE YOUR PRIMERS ARE SEATED PROPERLY AND ALSO LOOK FOR A BURR AROUND THE FIRING PIN HOLE.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME RECENTLY WITH A 32-20 OFFICIAL POLICE REVOLVER, THE PROBLEM: OAL WAS A TAD TOO LONG AND THE BULLET NOSE WOULD HANG UP ON THE BARREL.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME RECENTLY WITH A 32-20 OFFICIAL POLICE REVOLVER, THE PROBLEM: OAL WAS A TAD TOO LONG AND THE BULLET NOSE WOULD HANG UP ON THE BARREL. SOME BRASS IS LONG, LIKE 1.310" +, WHILE OTHER BRASS IS AROUND 1.280". R-P SEEMS TO BE ON THE LONG SIDE AND WINCHESTER AND STAR LINE IN THE 1.280" RANGE. AFTER FIGURING ALL THIS OUT, I STARTED TRIMMING TO 1.280".

Maybe just as a test remove the shroud and unscrew the barrel a few turns. This is just to verify if loading the cyl. pushes the cyl. forward enough to drag on the barrel stub. Maybe a little excess play in cyl. or BC gap adjusted to tight. Just a thought.

I’ve somewhat solved the problem, the heads were binding against the rear of the cylinder window/breach face, it required some stoning to square it up, all cases trimmed down to 1.280 and all rims seat flush except one cylinder, it now rotates freely with five chambered. My next move is to have the cylinders reamed and it should be good.

DON'T REAM YOUR DW TOO LOOSE, JUST ENUFF.
