For hunting which red dot is suggested...I am mid 60,s and I wear trifocals...I have just been shooting Iron sights and made adjustments of such over the years...Would like to try one of these animals...paper punching to hog hunting will be the use! Thanks for the help... Which dot moa 3/6/10 or like the Romeo 2 that has a circle an dot???

Trifocals….I have no idea how or what way those determine the choice.
Trijicon SRO has become my only pick for a small dot. Ultradot for a tube.

I wear bifocals,, and unless you get glasses just for shooting,, a red dot will "starburst" to some degree if not properly focused.
I like UltraDot's a lot myself. Burris FF III is also good.

I’d say Play with a few and see which you prefer, primarily look at both tube and reflex. The tube sight is much easier to locate the dot in because we have been conditioned with scope to look through the tube and Viola there is the dot. On a reflex sight it takes practice to get consistent pulling the dot up quickly. Burris, Aimpoint, Trijicon, Ultradot all make an excellent tube sight, some require rings others have a built in clamping type mount, either picatinny or T1 style. The reflex sights are typically smaller and can either be direct mounted using an appropriate base that directly screws to the gun or utilize a weaver/picatinny type mount. I have both tube and reflex and like them both, my most looked for feature is an on/off switch, I do not care for auto off features.

I run both 1 moa and 2.5 moa dots on different guns.

3moa dot on the fastfire3 and 2.5 on the delta point. Wish burris would make a 1 moa on their fastfire3.

Note add ? on MOA dot size My preference on dot size is driven by intended target and max range. For me personally I don't want the dot to cover more than about half of the target. So if I was considering a dot on a 22 revolver for squirrel hunting I wouldn't want more than a 2moa dot. Yet, I have a 6moa dot on a 44SPL NMFT Blackhawk that I would use for deer hunting to ranges of about 75 yards. Just my preference. -Freeze |

I have 3 Vortex 1 Burris FF and a Holosun with the circle, red dot and circle and red dot all wrapped into one.
I really, really, really like the Holosun.
Keep it set on the circle only setting.
