Stan, is that one a 6” or 6.5”? I’ve been in search on a no dash 6”.

I don’t believe the 629 “no dash” came with 6 1/2” barrels. It has the recessed cylinder but no barrel pin. Transition gun as the P&R was being phased out.

***** S&W presented me to podium gun at the first International Revolver Championship, end of summer 1980. The barely released M-629 with 6-inch barrel. Introducing the Combat Trigger, width between standard and Target, serrated Target-style. Hammer & triggers were drop forged carbon steel, case hardened, then flash-chromed to look like stainless. “Only the first 100 or 200 Combat Triggers are serrated,” I was told. The first M-629’s have countersunk chambers, the practice soon eliminated from centerfires. The so-called “enhancements” had yet to arrive. David Bradshaw

My 629 no dash has a six and a half inch pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. It came with a blue box, wood case, and shipping box. I still have them. I did have the gun engraved by Tom Hartliep. Full cover American scroll. I like it because I can still carry and shoot it. I did add smooth bird's eye maple target grips.
