This reminds me, need further development on using the Missouri 300gr 44 SWC in 44spec hulls for my M69. That bullet, similar to the 45 shown above.

This reminds me, need further development on using the Missouri 300gr 44 SWC in 44spec hulls for my M69. That bullet, similar to the 45 shown above. I've used 17.5gr A2400 in 44 MAGNUM cases, standard primers, seated to and crimped in the crimp grove (with MBW 300gr "Hammer". Bullet nose is real close to cylinder face but not too long. Haven't chrongraphed but I'm guessing (based on relative mild recoil) 950 to 1,000 fps in my 2.75" M69. Personally, rather than using 44 special cases, I'd deep seat and crimp over the front drive band in 44 MAGNUM cases and start with 16.0gr A2400 (been meaning to try exactly this but haven't got round to it). Short seating in .44 mag cases should give better case neck tension, bullet nose farther from cyl face insuring against "bullet jump" tying up the gun. Have noticed 2400 seems to give better velocity (not a lot but more) in shorter barrels vs W296/H110 - of course YMMV. FWIW Paul

I shoot a variety of bullets from them. I've been very happy with the results.

“ Yes, all their bullets are”
This is incorrect, and easily checked on the MO Bullets website. MO offers different hardness levels in the same bullet weight and type. I think this is a key to their success.

They have two levels of BHN, hardness, 12 and 18. Where you draw your line and call start calling it "hard cast", well... I've liked the several versions i've used/use. The 480 offering, do wish it had a bit more meplat, would ease my conscious as to using it on game.

I took a nice young whitetail buck with the .452" 325 gr Hammer from MBC. Loaded to about 1100 fps in Colt cases, it went through and might still be moving for all I know! Great bullet.
