I really like the Nimrod style, the stainless Gallagher 454 gets the most use.

This one is Ben Forkins version of the Nimrod. He worked with Bowen when he started and in fact built some of the Bowen Best Grade guns so I am confident it is pretty much like the Bowen Nimrods I have had in the past. I sent it back to Ben last fall for the white line addition on the front sight along with a white outline rear Bowen sight. Hey I think I know that gun!!!

God I love these guns.
But someone's gotta tell me. Where the hell did nimrod naming come from?
Also, who first put on the barrel bands onto these bad boys? Who started that trend?

God I love these guns. But someone's gotta tell me. Where the hell did nimrod naming come from? Also, who first put on the barrel bands onto these bad boys? Who started that trend? The name comes from Genesis 10:9 - He was mighty hunter before the Lord; that is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord." Interestingly, the phrase "before the Lord" is more accurately translated as, Nimrod saw himself as greater than God. Today, many scholars and historians would know Nimrod by another name: Gilgamesh. He was truly awesome, but not the God-fearing skilled huntsman we'd like to believe.
