A few hundred rounds into shooting this thing. Gun definitely deserves a Bowen target rear sight. Perhaps some more ergonomic grips too. Most of all the DA trigger needs help. SA feels decent but the DA is H-A-R-D. Spring kit is cheap. Past experiences with S&W rimfire revolvers and spring kits have not turned out well. Hoping the Ruger DA action likes it better.

Grips and springs today. Wilson spring set. Tried all of the hammer springs. NONE of the hammer springs made for a reliable 22LR gun. Ended up back with the original. The 8 pound trigger spring was fine.

A spring kit and some smoothing up of a few key surfaces should go a long way on a Ruger DA. The hammers are larger compared to the smaller, lighter DAs.
More mass, more momentum.
Longer radius between the hammer nose and pivot, potentially more speed out there at the end of the radius. more momentum.
There should be no problem igniting 22 rimfire cases. I've played around and gotten some very light springs to light CCI primers on center-fire Ruger DAs.
When I had Security Sixes to spare, especially one very fine, 6" blued model, I wondered just how cool a 22 LR it would make, or even a 32-20. In those days, I loved the gun but hated the cartridge and wished it were available in something else. I've gotten over my disdain for the 357, but the Ruger DAs are a great design and seeing other chamberings is very cool.
That should really be a fun gun.

I love the GP100s. Bought them in 327 Federal, 10mm, 44 Special (Clements) and 22 LR.
All are stunningly accurate. Interestingly enough, I've never found a 357 Mag one worth bring home.
The 22 LR was one of those odd purchases. Following my Single Nine being so accurate, I decided to add a Single Ten. But, my LGS talked me into the GP100 22 LR because they couldn't sell it.

The weight of the GP has always been off-putting to me - even the Security Six seemed a bit more mass than needed, BUT for the 22 LR, I'd be shooting at teeny, tiny stuff, so the extra weight would be a boon.
I recognize that my preferences can be a bit odd, so the weight thing isn't a criticism. Certainly, a lot of people seem to appreciate it.

If I recall correctly, my GP100 327 Fed 5 1/2" Half Lug weighs less than a comparable Single Seven.
It is a sturdy 22 LR though. I'll have to give you that one...

Liked the Williams sight on my Single 10 so much I've ordered one for this GP100
