Always like to know the OP's intended uses for guns pictured, please. Mine is general purpose around yard here, or the camp acreage in the Penn hills. So it may have a shotshell followed by either DEWC or 265 gr LFN. I left on, and like the upswept hammer. Oh, if the smoker/BBQ was gonna run this weekend, I'd put ya on the guest list. We can shoot the steel from the patio where the smoker is.

YEP, THAT IS A FINE LOOKING REVOLVER, AND FUNCTIONAL/USEABLE TOO. INFO PLEASE ON THE STYLE, COVERAGE %age, AND MAYBE THE APPROXIMATE COST. I LIKE THE STYLE AND AMOUNT OF ENGRAVING. I called Bobby Tyler and told him what I had and that I was interested in engraving. He said he had done some of these Sheriffs models and knew exactly what it needed. He said to just request a $750 engraving package when I sent it in. For $750, the coverage percentage was described as "not too much, not too little". Wasn't exactly sure what to expect but I trusted Bobby. He is not a man of many words on the phone, I suspect because he is so busy. As for the style, I did have him confirm that it would be in the same general style as his New Model RSSE. I think this would be considered Spanish scroll but I'm not positive. TGW did their excellent action job and the accuracy package. I provided him a SS SBH hammer to swap in also. The work took about eight and a half months.

We can shoot the steel from the patio where the smoker is. My loads will be dictated by the fixed sights. Which for me means the fastest bullet I can find. This gun shoots a few inches high with 7.5 gr Unique under 240 gr WFN so I will be pushing the 180 gr XTPs as fast as I can without signs of pressure. Any load advice for 180 gr XTPs is appreciated. I am not typically one who loads for max velocity, but I do hope to get closer to point of aim. The factory upswept hammer is an elegant look for sure. I think the short, stubby SBH hammer looks good with this sized gun as well and I like the functionality.

longoval: A BLIND HOMELESS PERSON MAY KNOW MORE ABOUT 44 SPECIAL HANDLOADING THAN I DO, BUT I GOTTA' BELIEVE THERE ARE SOME 180gr-200gr CAST/POWDER COATED BULLETS OUT THERE YOU COULD TRY INSTEAD OF PROBABLY MORE EXPENSIVE XTP's.

You can come to my BBQ anytime. I am still deciding on what I want in a holster. I think I might need two. One for hunting with a flap and one for show.
