It's good to see a TLA in the field. Kudos on a fine hunt,, and the unique buck. I like stuff like that. But I chuckled at your comment about a bear hunt and cmnash being a comedian. I get funny looks when I hunt bear with my El Dorado in .45 Colt. And we have bears around here big enough to scare folks. (I'm in NC,, and we pass on a lot of bears in the 200 lb range. We see them reach the 500+ size here.) I'm using a cast bullet, powder coated, and using 2400 powder as well. I do not feel like I'm undergunned. As the saying goes; "Try it, you'll like it!"

Gentlemen,
cmnash’s comment was kinda tounge in cheek. See, I’ve done two bear hunts and a moose hunt with that TLA and that Elmer Keith load, with nothing to show for it. It’s as if when I go on an out of State hunt, it has some kind of curse. But I’m persistent and will keep at it. I’ve taken a hog, two deer, and a black coyote with it, but the bear have won every fight.

I should clarify that my comment was not a question of the TLA or ammo, but rather a friendly poke at Kim. I know he has traveled to points north and west with every intention (and preparation) of shooting a bear with his TLA. I don't doubt that Kim and his sixgun would have prevailed if the opportunity had presented itself. Despite everyone's best effort, no bear has fallen to THAT revolver, leading to the only sensible conclusion...the TLA is jinxed.

Kim,, I fully understand the possibility of a "curse" when trying to use a special gun. My El Dorado has been on the only elk hunt where I didn't get a chance at an elk. It's been on numerous bear hunts,, and so far,,,, no bear. In fact, the only critter it's taken was a deer. I have plenty of those to try things out on.
But I still get funny looks from newcomers to our bear hunts when they see me only put on a handgun. (I did almost get a bear once. I was at a customer's house to work on bats, when a momma bear decided to give me a bluff charge. I was nowhere near her cubs, and was well away from her. She just decided to give me the attitude a little. I was filming her cubs, when I saw her moving closer. I dropped my camera, and pulled the El Dorado quickly,, w/o having to use it.)

Congratulations Kim!
I too, know about handguns that seem to have a curse. I had a custom Redhawk built in 429 GNR that I hunted with for 10 years straight before taking game with it, and there’s a story behind the story on that kill 😳

Nice buck, I see knife handles in the left antler!
That case colored TLA is a beauty, what a slick piece.

Great work again Kim, I notice when you shoot something there's never a follow up shot. Good shooting!
