Great looking guns Greg. We should be proud to own the last batch (only two) that Dave built...

Very nice! it would be hard to pick a favorite. That short grip frame changes the feel more than you would expect. I like it. I have the same on my Harton built .41 Special Single Six.

Great looking guns Greg. We should be proud to own the last batch (only two) that Dave built... Ya and I surely scored when I went out on a limb and asked him if he had one to let go of when he was selling off his guns and he offered up the stainless one. Right place, right time...

Yup, David did the grips on your stainless .38 and the desert bighorn on Robb's .22 about the same time. We got on a Colt cylinder pin with Bisley hammer on single sixes kick for a bit, and he wanted to do his own grips on his single sixes. His grip work looks great to me. I really like Kelye's Colt pins. Those striped grips look like good candidates for a horn swap with Zane. Also, keep in mind, on the shorty grip frame, Ruger literally changed nothing but the length on the XR3-RED. The locator pin did not move, even though it should have because it's too close to the bottom on the shorty, but you can just take any set of XR3-RED, fit them up, scribe mark the bottom and cut them down and refinish if need be to get by for awhile if the stripers are awkward in hand.
