A lot of folks don't realize how small a K-frame cylinder really is. And, the Colt King Cobra is much smaller than the S&W. But, the latter has offset notches and the S&W's are cut at 90°...

I try to keep notes on a lots of these things. I have a dial caliper that stays at my LGS. It makes it really easy to measure stuff that I don't own.
Many people just consider the S6 a 22 Cal and nothing more.
Much size guestimation is off due to the relative size of the rest of the gun.
Most never consider a S6 Cylinder being bigger than a Colt King Cobra 357 Magnum Cylinder. But, numbers don't lie.
Of course, cylinder diameter and length are just part of the story. How far the chamber centers are from the axis of the cylinder is equally important.
Both measurements contribute to available wall thickness. Both outside and inside walls to boot...
