I have been negligent lately and had quit carrying my Surefire G2X because of the size. When I picked up my DW Bruin the other day I came across the Olight Baton 3. This little bugger is perfect for carry. It is rechargeable and has a low and high power mode plus strobe effect. The high power is 1200 likens and it is 2.48in in length and weighs 1.87oz and has a clip on it. I can carry this one easily. It was also only $64 which seems like a good price for an item that can help save your life YMMV

Been looking for another rechargeable flashlight. Can't find any local. Like that one. How's the battery life with it?

Got a Crossbreed holster a year ago for the wife's SP101, and they were offering a deal on a promotional flashlight light that my gift card would additionally cover. Guy on phone at CrossBreed, told me if I kicked in a few more bucks, he really recommended I get an O'Light model he said was WAY better than their logo'd promo offering. The O'Light was a small single AAA model that totally out classed my high mileage, parts swapped, upgraded old Mini Maglight that many of us have. A slightly bigger version, single AA likely will be bought soon. For headlamps, which all outdoor people should have too, I have 2 NEBO's I like.

I suggest a visit to Olightworld.com.. Many neat things. Arkfelds and Octacles have caught my eye too. The Arkfeld is an oddly flat profiled light, that also has a green laser, pointer, designator. The Octacles are utility knife/multitools.

Lights have made incredible strides in the last several years. Was in Marengo cave www.marengocave.com/ recently. Tour guide (pretty funny) had an old 3 cell mag light. All I could do to keep from pulling out my newer double aa led light so she could see how much brighter, lighter, and more compact it was. Then it struck me she may have the old maglight for use as a baton. I used to hang out at candlepower forums. Lots of info over there.

Thanks Rangersedge for the tip on the candlepower forums, as I'm looking for a new personal EDC light.

Due to old age I carry a couple of things I never carried before, flashlight’s and Knives. I have 3 of the Fenix PD35’s and keep one on my belt all the time now. I have the Olight i1R 2 on my Keychain, it’s pretty bright for no bigger than it is.

I've been up & down the flashlight market... my problem is durability... got a few "tach" lights right now... false claims about being able to start a fire with the light, but so far they are reasonably reliable... last little light I had like pictured above, held like 5-6 watch batteries, extremely bright, but one day it came unscrewed in my pocket, & I never did find all the pieces... I don't mind buying AAA batteries my newest ones have a cartridge that holds 4
