I had a short barrel version of Richards gun, same era but nicer finish and I foolishly let it go. It had factory pearl grip on top of it all! I've contemplated selling my Harton custom USFA 41 Special and looking for another one but I haven't made the move yet.

Congrats on finding a fine SA handgun.
I've never had the luck,, (or the money at the time,) to own a Colt SA,, but maybe one day.

2 Dogs introduced me to him at lunch about 2 weeks ago. He was anything but closed. Very impressive individual. Made me want to go buy a Colt.

That '58 Second Gen has just the right look. Congrats on finding it.

I have a 45 Colt 2nd Gen. SSA like yours, Alan slicked mine up. I am happy as can be with it. I had him do one piece walnut grips and action job. Also tune the barrel for POA with extra 45 ACP cylinder.

a 1958 produced 2d Generation in 45 Colt. It has the right amount of wear and fading of the case colors to be a good shooter. Plan to shoot it this weekend. Then it will go to Alan Harton to be checked out, tightened as needed and he'll make a set of Walnut grips for it. ![](https://i.imgur.com/Xx5d4js.jpg) Glad this finally came to fruition for you. Well done!
