Our house went on the market Monday night about 8 pm and it appears I am about to be finding all the things I have lost in vet the past 23 years here. We are excited to be selling and moving to our new house but I am so dreading the move itself. The best offer we have as of right now wants to claim ownership by Sept. 1. Did I tell you how bad I am dreading packing and moving, although I am interested in all the things I might find.

MY PREDICTION: 1 YEAR AFTER YOU MOVE YOU WILL STILL BE UNPACKING AND LOOKING FOR STUFF. MOVING CAN BE A DOUBLE NIGHTMARE: 1) PACKING, and 2) UNPACKING. BUT GOOD FOR YOU ON YOUR CONTEMPLATED AND DESIRED MOVE.

I moved to my new home about five years ago and still can’t find the box where I put my old classic African hunting books, Taylor, Raurk, Corbett, and Patterson.

Moving to the lake, cutting our house size down by nearly 1/2 and about 30 minutes to the range I use and 10 minutes from where I hunt. We still have to finish the house and put the boat launch in but we are excited. I hope this is our last move.

Moving soon too. I dread trying to move 46 years of stuff accumulated in all that time. The wife of all those years is not going to be happy with the downsizing and getting rid of at least half of that crapp. I feel for you because of the time constraints.

We are fortunate in that the buyer wants most everything in the house. There are a few items that we will not part with but most of the furniture and appliances are going to stay and that is a huge burden off my back as we have 25 years worth of worth of other stuff to deal with.
Our new house is not completed yet but it is only about 1/2 the size of our house now so we do not need it all either. It will be a bit trifling til our new house is completed but definitely worth the wait.

Having moved twice in the past 2 years after not having moved in 20 years, I understand your trepidation. That said, it's a great opportunity to sort things that really matter to you vs. those that do not. Regardless, I wish you peace of mind and happiness with you new residence.

We just moved into a condominium after only 2yrs. in a 1900 square foot house. But at age 79 and 76 we have had enough of cutting grass, painting and such. In good health as far as we know.

In the past year here: Replace well pump twice Remodel two bathrooms Replace both entry doors Up grade to 200 amp electric panel Replace all switches and receptacles Fix numerous plumbing leaks after water pressure increased. Still to do: Replace/add to all wiring Remodel another bathroom Remodel kitchen Replace both decks Replace siding Reinsulate entirely Replace insulation and upgrade Replace siding Replace roof Replace windows. Grading/landscaping Then sell to someone else moving down here from up North to work in Charlotte for a BIG mark-up! Then move into a Condo so I don't have to do this mess again.

And I thought I was dreading it man you rebuilding. 1/3 of the way there. $50,000 so far. Bigger job than I first estimated. I'll still profit.
