NEED MORE INFO ON THE GUN AND THE "GABBY HAYS" TUSKLESS HOG.
ANY HANDGUNNED DEAD HOG IS A GOOD HOG BUT A GALLAGHER CUSTOM SHOULD BE A SPECIAL REVOLVER.

Always good to see one of John's guns in the field doing work. John once said to me that "he hopes I use it for what its made to do".....

I see such pretty guns posted here and figure you guys would faint if you saw the shape the Gallagher is in. I just got the 475 cylinder back from reblue cause the finish was pretty beat up from hunting... I remember telling John that I did not take the blue 475 to Alaska cause I saw what the weather up there can do to a blued gun and he recommended a paste wax to use..

My 45 he built me had a pearlescent blue glow to it the day I picked it up from his shop. After 10 or so years of use, it caries scratches and is no longer that pearlescent blue. I think John would approve if he could see it today.

jfs that’s a beauty of a gun, and a nice boar that seems to identify as a sow in toophesis dept!
I too use carnauba paste wax on my hunting guns, rifle and wheel guns. Started about ten years ago after goi g nuts on a rainy hunt trying to keep my 1950 M94 from rusting on me. I didn’t know anyone else using paste wax then and just tried it, and liked it.

When the weather is poised to turn ugly, I’ve been using Renaissance Wax on my bespoke Krieghoff sporting shotguns for years. It does a good job on metal and wood … just use in accordance with instructions.

When the weather is poised to turn ugly, I’ve been using Renaissance Wax This brand of wax seems to get the highest rating for use on guns... The Midway guy uses it in one of his instructional videos.... Works great on my non stainless collector knives....

I think James has a hatred for wild pigs. I see him posting stuff all the time of his kills. Or,, maybe he just likes a lot of wild pork! Seriously,, another nice one James!

I think John would approve if he could see it today. I had a blued Phillips and Rodgers 500 Linebaugh that I managed to drop into the chest cavity of a moose that I was field dressing in the dark. I used a paste wax made for guns shortly before I went hunting though so it saved the finish. I wasn't able to do any cleaning on the gun until the next day either, so the wax is a good protector for blued rifles.
