The gun magazines and gun companies and ammunition companies manipulate and sell to the uniformed, so they can stay in business, and continue to make the less popular things that the informed value.
It's all a game... All a game.

I'm probably going to drop everything except Handloader and Rifle Magazines. May keep Rifle Shooter too.
I hear the YouTube and internet guys bashed, but I'd belive them as quick as I would these "authorities."
I was curious about one thing. If the 9mm will blow the lungs out, what would the 30 SC do?

I've dropped everything but Double Gun Journal. I've got all of the Rifle/Handloader on disk and the gun rags aren't really marketing to me. When I pick them up now and leaf through them at the airport, they seem awfully thin and most of it is advertisements that really show me I'm not their market. I don't even recognize most of the writers these days. Sounds like I'm old but I'm not. I invested long ago in a good library and still add to it. That's most of what I need.

My biggest 30SC complaint is that a few pieces of brass mixed with thousands of 9mm, 380, and everything else on the range floor can be difficult for my old eyes to pick out. Have quit looking for 30SC dies and brass and just went back to loading 32 S&W Long on a Dillon SDB..

.............next, the "26 and 3/4 extra"...
............because IT holds two more than the 30 super carry..........
..come to think of it, i believe there's a company that has a pistol in 22mag that holds a bunch..

yup... not politically correct so it must be popular... holds 2 more rounds... must be better???
I have the 30 round 22 mag ( really not politically correct ) I'd still rather shoot my 6 round 45 Colt any day

.........We don't seem to get upset when they 6.5 Creedmoor came out and the 260 Remington faded out?........... Oh, I did! THAT one aggravates the snot outta me, it just does no good to point out all the ridiculous claims because those who seem to have dollars - and no sense of history - outnumber the rest of us a million to one.
I am careful not to talk about it though. Just causes angst.
Since that wonder-child was born (pushed down everyone's throats), I stopped seeing 160 grain Hornady RNs in .264" and Sierras of the same weight, 6.5x55 brass can be found, but it's much less economical - took a back seat in production. The 260 Remington didn't impress me with having any advantage over the 6.5x55, except that it uses 308 brass, which isn't that big a deal, since 6.5x55 brass got pretty popular for a while and was available and priced decently. Short action advantage? How often have I seen someone save a half inch on the action and add another inch and a half to the barrel - net loss - null argument.
Anybody can buy and shoot whatever they want - I'm all for that, but when hair-splitting "improvements" are used to justify over-selling something "new" at the expense of the support of something a lot of people already have and need components for, well, that irritates me.

I’m a big fan of proper 6.5’s…Swedes and such but I will say the 6.5 PRC is a good and proper big game hunt cartridge.
I’ve only got a few hundred 6.5 160’s and wish I had a lot more!
